February 20-- Mrs. Lillie Chambers NeeSmith, age 88 of Vidalia, died Saturday, February 18, 2012 in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia after a brief illness. She was a native of Uvalda, living in Apopka, Florida for sixty years, and moved to Vidalia in 2005. She retired from Ray Brown’s Nursery in Apopka and was a member of the Smyrna United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, MC NeeSmith and three children, Audrey Rich, Alice Irwin, and an infant child.
Mrs. NeeSmith is survived by one son, Hollis Mack NeeSmith and wife Wannell of Sorrento, Florida; eight grandchildren, Cindy Quails of Apopka, Alicia Meeks of Wetumpka, Alabama, Kim Shaffer of Chicago, Illinois, Marty Howard of Sorrento, Dee Dee Schell of Apopka, Eugene Russ of Apopka, Tracy NeeSmith of Deland, Florida, and Natashua Ewing of Eustis, Florida; twenty-two great-grandchildren, twenty-eight great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, February, 20th at 11:00 am in the Smyrna United Methodist Church with Reverend Chad Watkins officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.

February 20-- Mrs. Mattie “Lade” Williamson, age 78 of Lyons, died Saturday, February 18, 2012 in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia after an extended illness. She was a native of Toombs County and lived in Emanuel County most of her life. She was employed at Globe Manufacturing for many years and retired as a supervisor from Federal Pacific. She was a member of the Lyons Free Will Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by her husband, Barnie C. Williamson; her parents, Thomas and Mattie Lee Meeks Williamson; two sisters, Lucky Carey and Eula Ennis; and a great-grandson, Duncan Coursey.
Mrs. Williamson is survived by three daughters, Bonnie Faye Paradice and husband Buddy of Lyons, Wanda Cato and husband Jon of Watkinsville, and Debbi Bragdon and husband Randy of Lyons; one son, Buddy Williamson and wife Leaette of Vidalia; three sisters, Genevive Ramsey of Lyons, Lynette Brown and husband Paul of Vidalia, and Genelda Gerritts and husband Jerry of Lyons; three brothers, Larry Moore of Lyons, Dale Moore and wife Ginger and Jerry Moore and wife Janet all of Vidalia..
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 20th at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Wilson and Reverend Len Blanchard officiating. Interment will follow in the Williamson Cemetery in Toombs County.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 6:00 until 9:00.
Mrs. Mattie Williamson age 78 of Lyons
February 13-- Mrs. Betty McCallum Bivins, age 75 of Ailey died Thursday, February 9, 2012 in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia after an extended illness. She was a native of Montgomery County and graduated in 1954 from the Mt. Vernon-Ailey High School as the Salutatorian. After high school, she married her husband, who was a Marine and they traveled the United States during his career. She was a graduate of Brewton-Parker Junior College in Mt. Vernon, and earned her Bachelor’s degree from Wesleyan College in Macon. She earned her Master’s Degree from Georgia Southern. In 1973 she moved back home and taught piano for many years. She was a math teacher and the computer coordinator for the Montgomery Public Schools.
Mrs. Bivins is survived by her husband, Retired Lieutenant Colonel (United States Marine Corps) Harold “Sonny” Bivins of Ailey; two daughters, Betty Ann Fleenor and husband Courtney, and Dr. Catherine Bivins all of Richmond, Virginia; one son, Dr. Harold Bivins, Jr. of Indianapolis, Indiana; two brothers, Retired Commander James Archibald McCallum of St. Augustine, Florida and James Ware McCallum of Franklin, North Carolina.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 13th at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with the Reverend Wayne Durden and Reverend Jimmy Meadows officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon City Cemetery.
Mrs. Betty Bivins age 75 of Ailey
February 13-- Mrs. Sarah Frances Cason Willis, age 72 of Uvalda, died Friday, February 10, 2012 in Oxley Park Health and Rehabilitation in Lyons after an extended illness. She was a lifelong resident of Uvalda and was employed with the Montgomery County School System in the cafeteria in the middle school and high school. She was a member of the Uvalda Baptist Church and the Happy Hearts Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom Ellis Cason and Sarah Elizabeth Carpenter Cason; and three brothers, Gene, Wallace and Thomas Cason.
Mrs. Willis is survived by her husband, Urtis Willis of Uvalda; one daughter, Ann Absher and husband Mark of Alston; two sons, Jimmy Braddock of North Carolina and Donnie Braddock of Uvalda; one sister, Barbara Thigpen and husband Leroy of Uvalda; six grandchildren, Sarah, Travis, Dustin, Daniel, Misty, and Karen; nine grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 14th at 11:00 am in the Uvalda Baptist Church with Reverend Adrian Bell officiating. Interment will follow in the Dead River Cemetery.

Mrs. Mary Eleanor Phillips age 76 of Kibbee
February 13--Mrs. Mary Eleanor Phillips, age 76 of the Kibbee Community died Friday, February 10, 2012 in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia after an extended illness. She was a native of Richmond Hill, living in Liberty County most of her life and has resided with her daughter in Kibbee for the past seven years. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Mt. Olive United Methodist Church in Fleming. She was preceded in death by a son, Walter Herman Phillips, Jr.; and her parents, John Perry Rushing and Desdie Bashlor Rushing.
Mrs. Phillips is survived by her beloved husband of fifty-nine years, Walter H. Phillips, Sr.; a daughter, Sylvia Ann Frost and husband Kem of Kibbee; one sister, Bonnie Robertson of Richmond Hill; a grandson, Bruce Allen Proman II and wife Pamela of Fleming; a granddaughter, Donna Stevens and husband Jack of Fleming; two great-grandchildren Trey and Payton Proman; a brother-in-law; David Phillips and wife Brenda of Midway; a sister-in-law Ernestine Phillips of Fleming; several nieces, nephews, cousins, their spouses and live in caregivers Lecia Burton and Carl Grinstead.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, February 12th at 3:00 pm in the Cornerstone Baptist Church with Reverend H.G. Ridgdill officiating. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 13th at 3:00 pm in the Mt. Olive United Methodist Church with Reverend H.G. Ridgdill officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Mt. Olive United Methodist Church in Fleming from 1:00 until 3:00. Mrs. Ola Mask age 88 of Vidalia
February 20-- Mrs. Ola Mask, age 88 of Vidalia, died Saturday, February 18, 2012 in the East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro. She was a native of Washington County and the daughter of the late Gordon and Ola Mills Veal. She later lived in Covington where she was a secretary at Bibb Manufacturing Company in Porterdale. Her husband, the late Robert Davis Mask, Sr. was transferred to the Vidalia area by the Atlanta Journal Constitution. She was employed with the City of Vidalia and retired in 1986 as City Clerk-Treasurer. She was also preceded in death by her son, Robert Davis Mask, Jr.
Mrs. Mask is survived by her daughter, Helen Mask Dunford and husband Mike of Vidalia; grandchildren, Sonia Wilkes of Jacksonville, Florida, Julie W. Walden and husband Chris of Vidalia, Keith Mask and wife Ashley of Statesboro, Chris Mask and wife Mia, Reverend Brett Mask and wife Laray, Jennifer Hicks and husband Joey of Palm Coast, Florida; three sisters, Doris Knox of Martinez, Dorothy Abernathy of Austell, and Agnes Cochran of Fray; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 21st at 11:00 am in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend David Blalock, Reverend Brett Mask, Reverend Robert Green, and Reverend Jose Caraballo officiating. Interment will follow in the Pinecrest Cemetery.
